Overview Of The Week 7: What A Year, Huh.
4 of the Mag 7 companies report in the upcoming week
Hi Multis
It's Sunday again and that means it's time for your weekly Overview Of The Week again! Let's dive in.
Articles in the past weeks
This article is the third this week.
In the first article this week, I updated the Starter Stocks.
The second article was the first of what will probably be two or maybe even three articles: my assessment of the TransMedics short report, part 1.
Memes Of The Week
Just one meme this week.
Interesting Podcasts Or Books
I worked so much on the TransMedics short report this week that I didn't listen to any podcasts. I read, as always, but I started no new books.
The markets in the past weeks
The indexes were up this week.
The Russell 2000 won 1.40%, the Nasdaq 1.65% and the S&P 1.74%.

With the gains, the Greed & Fear Index jumped from Fear to Neutral.
Quick Facts
1. Cloudflare Blocks Record-Breaking DDoS
Cloudflare (NET) reported that it blocked the largest Distributed Denial-of-Service ('DDoS') attack so far. The attack fired a whopping 5.6 terabits per second at an internet service provider in Eastern Asia. The attack was fueled by over 13,000 Internet of Things devices. Cloudflare’s automated systems stopped it right away, with no disruption to the ISP and without any human intervention, which is quite impressive.
DDoS attacks have surged by 53% in 2024 compared to 2023. Between Q3 and Q4 alone, attacks exceeding 1 Tbps even grew by a jaw-dropping 1,885%.
But while the average attack size has grown exponentially, their duration has decreased considerably. 72% of HTTP-based and 91% of network-layer attacks in 2024 lasted less than 10 minutes. That makes it harder for traditional defenses to handle the attacks. On top of that, DDoS attacks are often done in moments of peak internet usage, like holidays, holiday shopping, or big events, which even increases how dangerous they are for businesses.
That's the content in which you should understand what Cloudflare says when it states:
Organizations with proactive security strategies are more resilient,” the company emphasized.
With larger DDoS attacks, automated real-time protection like Cloudflare’s is quickly becoming an indispensable shield for internet stability.
Engagement
Braden Dennis, the founder and CEO of Finchat, is engaged, he announced on X.
If you want to give Braden a little gift for his engagement but also benefit from it yourself, then consider taking a subscription to Finchat, which I believe is the best AI-driven investment platform.
Charts, earnings calls, analyst expectations, filings, company-specific KPIs you can’t find anywhere else for that price and soooo much more.
On top of that, you get a 15% discount if you use this link.
3. DeepSeek
The talk of the town this week on X was not Braden’s engagement but DeepSeek. Initially, this Overview Of The Week was much longer, as I wrote down my thoughts on DeepSeek. But those transformed into a separate article that I will publish later, probably tomorrow already.
I think that because of the buzz around DeepSeek, Nvidia and maybe the Mag7 could drop. But with 4 of the Mag7 reporting in the upcoming week, I expect that will influence the price movement more in the second half of the week.
